Galaxian Dnd

Backstory:

For generations, we have known only the cold steel embrace of Laconia, our ark, our world. We fled a dying Earth, traversing the black gulf between stars, carrying the last embers of humanity. Within the thirteen Cores, life persisted, culture flourished, and skills were honed for a future we could only dream of.

That dream, after countless generations, has materialized before us. Not as a welcoming terrestrial sphere, but as something far beyond our comprehension. We have arrived at Galaxia.

Forget the maps of old, the celestial charts that guided us through the void. Galaxia is not a planet as we understand it. It is a galaxy-sized entity, a cosmic leviathan that defies the very definitions of celestial bodies. Imagine a world so vast it encompasses entire star systems, its atmosphere an endless expanse of cosmic dust and light, its skies painted with nebulae and the ghosts of swallowed suns.

Laconia, for all its immense scale, is but a mote of dust upon its surface. We have landed on a region that feels familiar – a Mediterranean cradle amidst the cosmic immensity – but do not be fooled. Every breath we take is within the atmosphere of a sentient being, a cosmic giant whose very thoughts might ripple through the fabric of reality around us.

Galaxia was not born of typical stellar evolution. It is a nexus, a place formed by a cosmic domino effect, drawing in wandering planets and dying stars, adding their essence to its own. Within its boundless terrain lie every conceivable environment, from landscapes bathed in the light of captured suns to regions shrouded in the eerie glow of nebulae. Resources beyond our wildest imaginations lie waiting to be discovered, materials and energies unknown to the science of old Earth.

But be warned, Laconian. Galaxia is not a passive land to be exploited. It feels. It reacts. To carelessly scar its surface is to invite a response on a scale we can scarcely fathom. Our arrogance, our ingrained habits of planetary exploitation, will find no purchase here.

Our survival on Galaxia will depend not only on our skills and ingenuity but on our ability to understand and perhaps even forge alliances with the myriad beings that dwell within this cosmic giant. For we are not the first, and we are certainly not the most powerful.

Your journey begins now. As Pathfinders, you are the vanguard, the first to truly step onto the shores of this galactic world. Will you explore its breathtaking wonders? Will you unravel its cosmic secrets? Will you help humanity find its place on a world that dwarfs our very understanding of existence?

The fate of the Laconians, their future on this galaxy-sized world, rests in your hands. Tread carefully, Pathfinders. The cosmos watches. And Galaxia… Galaxia feels your every step.
